In my little meadow (Spring)

On splaying fingered boughs
Nurtured on tepid draught
Slipping winter's grip
In my little meadow

First buds peek out
Then into walls vibrant life
Coated protect
Around my little meadow

Radiant sun permeates moisten soil
Daffodils, crocuses buds
Test midday breeze
In my little meadow

Reassured by warming gust
Break into radiant splendour
New fecund birth abounds
In my little meadow

Skies are clear
Whisped stretched
Across distant blue gray hills
Beyond my little meadow

Hummingbird arrived
Where have you been?
Precision dart left, then up
From my little meadow

Fresh infantile lime green leaves
Are so tender, succulent
Before the burgeoning sun
In my little meadow

Lush virgin blades of grass
Push strawed remnant aside
Stretch toward the sun
In my little meadow

Bunnies dormancy lifts
To consume luscious blades
Myriad of innocent pups
In my little meadow

Starlings shell game escapade
Starts in earnest
To leave us in wonder
In my little meadow
